BrainU 2000, July 17-21

Eighteen teachers from Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Roseville, Woodbury, Plymouth, Eden Prairie, Forest Lake, Elk River, Stillwater, Cloquet, Rochester, and Brainerd attended the first BrainU from July 17-21, 2000.


During the week:

stained section of human spinal cord
              {Section of Mammalian Spinal Cord}

examined neurons in various parts of the body,

 

teachers and neuroscientists interacting

discussing teachers

and practiced ways to facilitate learning and memory.

Throughout the week, they discussed how neuroscience topics relate to the Minnesota state standards,
speaker talking about neuroscience topics and Minnesota state standards

 

and developed plans for incorporating neuroscience education into their classrooms.
